Baby John Plot

The title of the film Baby John is derived from the name of the central character, who is fondly referred to as Baby John owing to his looks and his quiet persona. But things are not as simple as they appear to be. John was recently a petty criminal and has regrets about some of his life choices, but things are okay now as he strives to better himself. Unfortunately, the past haunts him.

After spending years away from the spotlight, John is pulled back into chaos as he’s in the wrong place at the wrong time. To make matters worse, he’s been ambushed in a frame. Feeling obliged to uphold his reputation and shield those he loves, John goes on a dangerous escapade that brings him face to face with his former foes and torments him with his past while seeking an intricate web of deceit set to bring everything he cares about down.

An ex-cop, struggling with his traumas too, becomes an ally of a criminal trying to navigate his world and a woman who seems to have her own, quite obscure purpose and is never clear about her intentions to the viewer. John’s family is far from what he believed, as the audience learnt to expect shocking revelations. As portrayed, conflicting emotions persist in the characters balancing the soliciousness of action with the torments of John trying to redeem himself and cherish his close ones.
