Introduction

After falling in love with the city while filming “Deliverance,” Reynolds purchased the house.

Constructed in 1972, Burt Reynolds bought the four-bedroom, four-and-a-half-bathroom house in the North Carolina hills during the 1970s after falling in love with the area while shooting the Academy Award-winning film “Deliverance.”

“Roughly fourteen houses are mine. Whenever people ask which one is my favourite, I always respond with my house in the mountains,” the actor stated in a letter dated December 1983, according to the listing.

Situated on a 0.9-acre plot of land, the house is surrounded by nature. Designed by renowned architect Jim Fox, it features numerous distinctive elements, including large round windows that seamlessly integrate the building into its natural surroundings.

The former residence of Burt Reynolds is listed for $2.9 million.

Reviews

The house was constructed with steel, stone, and wood, and its exterior is painted in shades of green, red, and brown.

Every room in the house offers sweeping vistas of the surrounding mountains, thanks to the many entry points on the main level. Upon entering, guests will experience the atmosphere of a rustic cabin due to the wood accents, ceilings, and flooring throughout the house.

The house’s exterior is decorated in shades of green and red.

Most of the living areas of the house, including a sunken living room with a stone fireplace, are on the main floor.

There’s another living room right above the submerged seating area. The room also has a wall of windows that let in a lot of natural light and offer a fantastic view of the lovely surroundings.

The main level features a sunken living room.

The dining rooms and kitchen complete the main level. The kitchen boasts a walk-in pantry, two ovens, a breakfast bar, an oversized hob, a wine rack, a large refrigerator, and an abundance of counter and shelf space for storage.

The dining space is conveniently close to the kitchen and has access to the two seating areas as well because of the open floor design of the house. A circular dining table is situated beneath an unusual light fixture fashioned from tree branches.

The kitchen features two ovens, a breakfast bar, a wine rack, and large windows.

Large windows encircle every room on the main floor, providing access to the recently added terrace, which is situated between the kitchen and dining area.

The private main bedroom is located on the upper floor of the house and is reachable by a separate door. The main suite has floor-to-ceiling windows with access to a private upstairs terrace, a walk-in closet, and a private ensuite bathroom.

The primary bedroom features an ensuite bathroom and a walk-in closet.

The ensuite bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub, dual basins, and a standing shower, all in front of a large window that gives a view of the surrounding rolling hills.

There are two more bedrooms located on the upper floor. But there is a separate staircase to get to them.

Elsewhere in the home, there are three additional bedrooms.

The basement floor of the house has a wine cellar, guest suite, office, and a special all-stone bathroom that Reynolds’s ex-wife Loni Anderson designed for him.

There have been several additional owners since the “Gunsmoke” star, but the current occupants have upgraded the property with a main floor patio.

The lower level features an office and more.
Also on the lower level are a wine cellar and an all-stone bathroom.

One of the house’s greatest attractions is its outdoor terrace। The terrace covers the main floor of the house and provides an outdoor fireplace in addition to a lot more seating space.

The house is also perfect for entertaining because it has an outdoor dining room and bar.

The upper terrace features additional seating space and an outdoor fireplace.

An in-ground, heated lagoon-style pool and waterfall are close to the outdoor fireplace on a stone staircase.

Just steps away from the outdoor fireplace is the lagoon-style heated pool.

Although entirely surrounded by nature, it is only a ten-minute drive to many five-star restaurants, art galleries, cultural opportunities, and world-class shopping, giving owners the perfect balance between city life and nature living.
